What Are Typical Filipino Families Like...?

Picture

In the Philippines, a mother and father hope for multiple children to ensure they have both a male and female child. It is expected that all respect the elderly. Even a person only one year older than you is considered an elder. A custom many are expected to follow is removal of shoes prior to entering the house another person. In the Philippines there is sexual equality but everyone is held to the standard of showing respect. Both men and women run and own businesses in the Philippines. A quality a Filipino family is known for is their bonds. Not even the worst crisis and trials of their daily life can tear apart a Filipino family. In the Philippines, you are sure to interact with happy, friendly and welcoming natives. (The Utrecht Faculty of Education, 2009)
